Video Messaging - A Digital Time Capsule Journey
In collaboration with
A mother’s video message to her daughters.
My dearest girls,
As I record this, my heart overflows with love for you both. Though I won't be there to see you grow up, I want you to know how proud I am to be your mother. You've filled my life with so much joy and meaning.
I know this will be hard, but I want you to be brave and strong. You have that strength within you - I've seen it shine through in so many moments. Hold onto the happy memories we shared - our silly dance parties, bedtime stories, and big bear hugs. Remember my laugh, my smile, and how much I adored you.
Live boldly and follow your dreams. Be kind to others and yourselves. Support each other as sisters. It's okay to feel sad sometimes but don't let grief overshadow the beautiful lives ahead of you. I'll be watching over you always.
You are so loved - by me, by your father, by our whole family. My greatest wish is for you to grow into confident, compassionate women who spread light in this world. I believe in you with all my heart. You will do amazing things.
I love you, to the moon and back, forever and always.
Mom
A saved voicemail or text message. The smell of a sweater. The taste of a recipe. The cover of a treasured photo album.
These have been the more traditional ways people have been able to remember their loved ones. The hope - is that the voicemail or text message is never deleted; the smell of the sweater will never fade over time; the favorite recipe will never taste exactly the way you may remember; the photo album never ends up in a banker’s box stored in a closet.
So let’s expand our senses and provide a new way to make everlasting memories.
We’re already doing it - so why don’t we get proactive about recording videos for our loved ones? Digital time capsules that can be released at predetermined times, combining our sense of sight and sound, into one or many magical moments for the people that care the most about us.
Meet the Founder of DieWell.
DieWell was created in 2024 after my mom passed away.
She had stage 4 cancer and had been on chemo for 4 years. During that time, we put all our energy into supporting her recovery, while conversations about death and other important topics were swept under the rug.
We never found the courage to initiate those meaningful talks as death drew closer. I often think about the things left unsaid and memories unshared.
DieWell is here to guide people like Mom and their families to have a better end-of-life experience—one where they can express their thoughts, leave memories, and provide closure for their loved ones.
A man’s video message to his wife and children.
My beloved family,
As I face this journey's end, my heart is full of love for you all. To my darling wife, my rock for 20 years, and our beautiful children – you are my world.
I'm sorry for the pain this illness has caused you. Watching you suffer alongside me has been the hardest part. But your strength, your love, and your unwavering support have been my greatest comfort.
I want you to know that it's okay to move forward. Live your lives fully, chase your dreams, and find joy in the everyday moments. Remember me in laughter, not in sorrow.
When you see a butterfly dancing on the breeze, know that it carries my spirit. I'll be there in the gentle flutter of wings at your graduations, weddings, and quiet family dinners. That butterfly will be my way of checking in, sending my love, and reminding you that I'm never truly gone.
Our bond is unbreakable, transcending this physical world. I'm so proud of each of you and the family we've built together. Keep supporting each other, keep loving fiercely, and keep making memories.
You've made my life beautiful. I love you, always and forever.

Why DieWell?
DieWell is specifically tailored for parents with terminal illness. Guiding parents with topics co-created with child psychologists and grief counselors, and inspired by the sons and daughters who’ve lost a parent.
As hospice professionals, you are intimately involved with those you care for daily.
For those who would like to leave a video message for their children, their grandchildren;
you and your hospice have the option of providing this kind of service.
This type of service adds value to your organization—introducing tools, services, and products that make the end-of-life journey exceptional. This is why physicians refer people choosing hospice to you. This is what separates your hospice from the others.
A father’s video message to his grown son.
Son,
I've never been one for flowery words, but I reckon it's time I said some things that need saying. I know I haven't been the easiest father to deal with over the years. Life on this ranch taught me to be tough, maybe too tough sometimes.
I want you to know I'm proud of you, son. Real proud. Your life in the city, your work in banking - it's a world away from this dusty ranch. But you've made something of yourself, and that's what matters.
I know we've butted heads. My stubbornness and your ambition didn't always see eye to eye. But watching you with your own family, I see a better man than I ever was. You're a good father, a good husband. You've got a kindness in you that this old cowboy never quite managed.
I don't want to be a burden to you in my final days. I've lived my life, and I'm at peace with that. But I needed you to hear this from me, just once: I love you, son. You're the best thing I ever did in this life.
Take care of your family. Remember where you came from, but never stop reaching for where you're going.
Dad
